My tween daughter Roo and I have now weathered many a summer day and we can always find something to do that is frugal or free in most cases. Here is our list:

- Make homemade ice cream
- Have a Lemonade stand
- Have a water gun fight

- Skip stones
- Star Gaze
- Start a collection
- Go to your local botanical garden
- Grow something
- Read
- Go for a bike ride
- go swimming
- Play street ball
- Play Frisbee
- Sketch a picture
- Clean your room
- Make a toy

- Collect bugs
- Learn a card trick
