Celebrating A Very Modern Eid with modernEid

Very hard for me to beleive that  Eid-al-Adha is  just a few weeks away so it is time to start planning how my daughter and I will celebrate it. We have not been Muslim long so each Eid is a new experience. Well thanks to modernEid we have decided to have a dessert party and invite a few friends over. It should be a great evening of sisterhood. I am actually really looking forward to it, now to find the perfect cupcake recipes.

This is also my first time not having to make decorations which always look like a child made them. The sleek lines of modernEid are such a blessing, and will make the night look all grown up.

I came across the wonderful  modernEID decorations orginally through American Muslim Mom who is running a very special campaign and contest.  When asked if I wanted to participate I had to go to the site and check them out, I was more than impressed! I love the colors and the lines as I mentioned.

I received my sample package in the mail late yesterday and here’s what it I got:

  • Decorative bunting
  • Decorative print
  • Gift box
  • 1 dozen mini cupcake frosting liners
  • 1 dozen cupcake liners
  • Candy bags
  • Gift tags
  • 2” round stickers

I am very excited to use them in our new home for our dessert night. What excited me more was finding out modernEid is a very eco-friendly company and all the paper products are printed on 100% recycled paper, and each year they also as a company choose to give part of their profits to charity.

You can find out more about modernEid on Facebook and modernEid on Twitter including updates and information about special offers.

Now for the contest details:

  1. Assalaamoalaikum! I love modernEid! I saw the Eid decor – AWESOME! I always try to get the kids excited about Eid. There's so much out there for them to get distracted by – Halloween, Christmas, Valentines. So whatever I can do to make Eid more appealing to them, I do. I think a modern Eid balances tradition, family, and of course, Islam. We all come from different backgrounds, eat different foods, and celebrate in our own way. But we are united in our celebrating this holy-day 🙂

We have a lot of extended family near by, so we could use the decor. I'm sure everyone would love it. I like both the Arabesque and the Mod. I love blues and greens, but because of the weather and fall colors, I think I'd go with the Arabesque, Insha Allah! Jazak Allahu Khairan for your hard work!a

  2. assaalamualaikum sister, how are you? I hope you are well Insha Allah. I just found out about Modern Eid and I am surprised. Good for them! We truly need beautiful decorations in Islam to make it special for ourselves and our children. I didn't know how to celebrate Eid. I always just have good food and drinks like mango juice etc. Modern Eid makes it easy for us to celebrate and creat memories. I love the Arabesque. Thank You commoncentsmom.com for learning about Modern Eid. I love the set you get it would be great to entertain with fellow muslims and to invite non muslim neighbors to learn about our religion. Eid Mubarak to you and yours 🙂

  3. ASA,
I love the Arabesque design and enjoy that I now have more choices for decorations. I make handmade Eid cards and sell them on http://www.zibbet.com/acraftyarab. It's so great to see more companies getting involved in Eid decorations. Insha'llah I can win and decorate my home with my three daughters!

  4. Growing up in the U.S. in the late 80's, Eid was something that I looked forward to every year because of the overflow of love, family and gifts. While material wealth was not in abundance, a strong feeling of community was. Now I feel that as people have accumulated more wealth, they've grown apart, either in emotions or physical distance, and Muslim children have gravitated towards wanting to celebrate the holidays of others. As Muslims, it is imperative that we continue to show our children how important (and fun) our holidays can be.

The Mod design by ModernEid would totally help me towards reaching that goal. I have never been able to find any Eid decorations where I live, much less the beautiful and classy items that ModernEid provides. ModernEid's products would definitely leave an impressionable impact on the children and adults that visit me this upcoming Eid.
