Foods You Must Try When in Halifax Nova Scotia

Over the winter holidays my teen daughter and I traveled to Nova Scotia to see family and just have some chill time. While we were there it was also a great chance to get some of our favorite foods. Nova Scotia is known for seafood, and donairs. Well I love both.Seafood Platter from Johns

First we had to go to John’s Lunch which is a simple hop skip and a jump from my sister’s house in Dartmouth. It is the home of the best fish and chips in Canada. After tasting them I know why. I had the seafood platter my first visit while my daughter had the classic fish and chips. It was so good. I have to say I loved the batter, and the freshness of the seafood. We even went back for a second visit just before coming home as my teen begged to go back. My picky teen more then loved the food.

She loved the atmosphere from the money wall (they have a wall and pinned to it is currency from all over the world, yes this place is that popular), to the booths and great staff.

Then on a Sunday adventure in Halifax I went looking for a donair and decided on a healthy donair plate from Mezza Lebanese Restaurant on Barrington St. It was so yummy and the sauce that I dipped my meat into was so sweet.

Then to celebrate my neice’s birthday, and to get my fill of Lobster in we had Lobster from Clearwater Seafoods. It was so good. We had a 6 lb lobster, and 2 2lb lobsters to feed the 4 of us, who wanted lobster and we got our fill of it! It was so good, really as I sit here it makes me long to go back. Lobster

My teen even loved her first taste of Lobster. Really it was a great final meal with my family before coming home.

If you have visited Halifax what are some of your favorite foods? and if you haven’t what would you like to try?
