Get Your Essential Oils During doTTERA’s BOGO Week!

If you are wondering why the blog has been really quiet, I must admit I have been thinking about how to rebrand. I am still very much about how to live your best life on a budget but I am also preparing for that next chapter in life as well as continuing my efforts to health and fitness.

One of the things I am doing is network marketing. I am a doTERRA health advocate because over the last 4 years oils have helped changed my life. Oils have also changed my daughter’s life.

You’re invited to a week of abundant living! All week long I am going to be sharing the best essential oil tips I know and sharing the daily deals that doTTERA is offering all week long. If you follow me, you know oils have changed our lives over the last 4 years and they continue to do so on a daily basis!

You will learn lots, I promise! You can also score some great deals on oils!

Want to learn more about the oils that are the deal of the day? Follow my Instagram Stories  and Facebook page.

I will also share facts and tidbits on the CommonCentsMom Facebook page.

Next week starts doTERRA’s BOGO week. (BOGO means buy one, get one.)…that is right every day there is a different deal!

Each day a new BOGO will be announced for 1 day only. Once the day is done, the deal is gone. Here is a voice of warning, they can and often sell out.  Check out each deal early in the day.

There are 2 ways to participate in each day’s deals:

1- Retail: You can get the deal of the day at retail pricing. If you are interested in that day’s deals DM me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram…I will tell you the cost. You PayPal or transfer that sum and I place the order for you. For local orders, I will also deliver, that way you will also receive a free health consult.

2- Wholesale: You can use your own doTERRA account or sign up for a new doTERRA wholesale account to get 25% off everything. (These wholesale accounts are no strings attached. No minimum order. Use as much or as little as you want.). It costs $35 US and lasts a year and comes with oil included in the membership. If you order a kit that fee is waived! I love getting my oils at wholesale! Interested? You can learn more here.

Message me to get set up before BOGO’s start or anytime during the week.

Are You Using Essential Oils in Your Self-Care Routines?

One of the things I have been doing lately is taking care of myself better. For years, I really didn’t focus on me ever at all. Everyone else came first. Self-care was low on my priority list? Ever been there? Slowly over the last couple of years, I have started using essential oils more and more. I feel in love with aromatherapy quickly but did you know essential oils can help you in so many ways. As I am learning to take care of myself better, in this month of love I wanted to share some great self-care recipes. Essential oils are now an important part of my self-care routines.

What kind of stress do you live with?

I know I placed the needs of family first and it seemed we always had something to juggle. What household is not busy these days?

With it being the week we celebrate love there are many ways to start taking care of you.

It’s time to take care of you. It’s time to show yourself some love.

Aromatherapy

One of the simplest ways to trigger relaxation is with scent. Aromatherapy triggers relaxation. It’s a great way to stop stress in a moment.

There are many ways you can use aromatherapy.

  1. With a diffuser. Simply add a few drops of your favourite oil to water to help you relax. My favourite oil to use is Lavender.
  2.  In your bath. Add a couple of drops of essential oil to a tablespoon of a carrier oil, then add this to your bath water. (Never add just oil to the water- water and oil do not mix.)
  3.  Massage.  Use it in a carrier oil to give a massage.

Scrubs

Some of my other favourite ways to use my essential oils is by making scrubs. Here are just a few great scrub recipes you may want to try:

5 Essential Oils for a Better Night’s Sleep

Sleeping-Woman

We seem to be in a sleep recession.  Everywhere we turn, we’re hearing about the health hazards of not getting enough quality sleep each night, but even though we know we need it, it’s not always so easy to come by.  Between stress, hormones, and not being able to shut our minds down at night, a good night’s sleep often eludes many people.

Essential oils can help though.  The trick is finding exactly which essential oil your body responds to best. Everybody is different; an oil that works well for one person might not do anything for someone else. I know finding my perfect oil combination took a little time to find.

Finding the best oil for you may take a little trial and error, but once you find the magic combo, your life will never be the same.  Here are a few to try:

1.Lavender

Most people are aware that lavender can play a role in helping you sleep, but what most people don’t know is that its benefits have been studied extensively.  One study found that inhalation of lavender and other essential oils improved sleep quality of hospital patients.

2. Chamomile

Chamomile is known for its calming, soothing, and relaxing qualities. It has a light, floral scent and is wonderful for creating a peaceful atmosphere.

3. YlangYlang

Ylang ylang is a wonderful choice if you want to improve the quality of your sleep. It’s very floral and smells a bit fruity so some people might not like the smell.

4. Sandalwood

This is a beautifully rich, woodsy oil. It is a little more expensive than some other oils, but a little goes a long way, so it will last you a long time.

5. Marjoram

While you may recognize Marjoram as an herb you cook with, its benefits go far beyond that. Not only is the essential oil beneficial for sore muscles and joints, it also excels in giving you a peaceful night’s sleep.

6. Cedarwood

Cederwood is an oil with an earthy, woody scent. It’s wonderful for calming your brain after a busy day. It blends well with lighter, floral oils, and works great on its own.

HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SLEEP

There are two popular methods for using these oils:

 Topical Use:

Apply the oil topically for a wonderful way to reap their benefits. Rub them on the back of your neck or on the bottoms of your feet before bed. Use olive oil to dilute them, and then rub them into your skin and massage your feet.

 Aromatic Use:

You can also use an essential oil diffuser. It’s easy to add a few drops of any of these oils to some water in your essential oil diffuser, set it by your bedside, and you’ll be in dreamland in no time.

For the last 2 years, I have been using Doterra oils here at home and have found that I sleep better. If you would like more information about essential oils please do ask.
